Welcome to Dominoes.ws, your online guide to the rules
of the game. You can find the rules to virtually any domino game
on earth. If you are
looking for the rules of a domino game you've come to the right
place.
Classic Domino Games
Domino is not a very old game when compared with chess, mancalah and
draughts, but is still several centuries old and there is a large
family
of related games which may be considered classic domino games.
Draw and Block are two excellent starting points if you have
never played the game before.
The Draw game
: one of the two basic games with dominoes.
The Block game
: well, uh, the other of the two basic games.

Domino Card Games
One of the fads in the sixties or seventies was to convert card
games to domino games. It seems to have started
with Texas 42, or 42 for short. Allthough Texas 42 was the first
card game to become as a domino game, it was by no means the
first card game to be converted to domino. Patrick Beaver describes
in his 'Victorian Parlor Games' the game of Domino Loo, the domino
variant of the betting game Loo. I will not decribe this game here,
nor any other betting variant, as I wish to keep this site child-safe.
The best known examples of domino card games are:
Bingo
Hearts
Texas 42
Moon, a 42 variation
for 3 players

Modern Domino Games
From the fifties on game designers have tried to develop new modern
games with domino tiles.
One of the first was Sid Sackson in his book "A Gamut Of Games".
The emphasis mostly has been to device games which offer a greater
scope for skill, less luck, and more playing fun.

Oriental Domino Games
The western domino game probably derived from Chinese Dominoes.
